Shahrukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had been nursing wounds inflicted by each on the other after they plunged into some brickbats nearly 2 years ago.
The day ‘Saawariya’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’ got released on the same date was an ominous moment for the two as they soured their relationship after passing some unpleasant comments.
SRK had some unpleasant remarks about Saawariya. Bhansali, on his part, had lashed out at the way ‘Om Shanti Om’ scoffed at some senior actors (like Manoj Kumar) citing that it was not the way a film should be made. Apparently, Bhansali is not a big fan of director Farah Khan.
So, SRK and Bhansali were not exactly at
bonhomie for these last few months. But now the King Khan has taken the step forward towards re-building his relationship with the famed director.
After watching a private screening of ‘Guzaarish’, an ecstatic and impressed SRK called the director up and spoke for nearly 20 minutes praising him for his poetic cinematic rendition. Bhansali acknowledges and appreciates his gesture and looks like the acrimony has, somewhat, died and a new friendship is on cards.
SRK still maintains that his best film till date is ‘Devdas’ which was a Bhansali film. Now that the two have re-shaken hands, can we expect another film from the duo? Surely, the movie watchers would be mightily pleased if they do work together again.
